Cops are looking for the suspect who allegedly punched out a 7 train rider after a verbal dispute turned violent near the Mets-Willets Point subway station.

Police from the 110th Precinct and Transit District 20 are looking for a middle-aged man who allegedly assaulted a 7 train rider near the Mets-Willets Point subway station near Citi Field on the morning of Monday, July 27.
The 47-year-old male victim was riding on a Manhattan-bound 7 train at around 8 a.m. when he got into a verbal dispute with a stranger that turned violent when the suspect punched him multiple times in the body with closed fists. The assailant ran off the train at the station and fled on foot on Roosevelt Avenue in an unknown direction. EMS transported the victim to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The NYPD released surveillance images of the suspect as he exited through the station turnstile and described him as having a medium complexion, approximately 40 years of age, with a slender build. He was last seen wearing a black polo shirt, tan camouflage cargo pants, a black baseball cap and carrying a black book bag.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to his arrest and indictment.

Through July 26, the 110th Precinct has reported 377 felony assaults so far in 2026, 41 more than the 336 reported at the same point last year, an increase of 12.2%, according to the most recent CompStat report. Transit crimes are also up in the precinct, with 34 reported so far this year, three more than the 31 reported at the same point in 2025, an increase of 9.7%, according to CompStat.
