A 34-year-old man was stabbed to death on a Bronx street two weeks ago — and on Monday a suspect was arrested for the murder, police said.
Tyrell Scott was stabbed in the chest during a confrontation on Riverdale Ave. near W. 232nd St. in Kingsbridge about 5 p.m. July 20, cops said. Medics rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he died two days later.
On Monday, 21-year-old Javid Edwin, accompanied by a lawyer, surrendered at the 50th Precinct stationhouse and was charged with murder, manslaughter and weapon possession, cops said.
The victim lived in Wakefield and the suspect is from Yonkers, according to the NYPD.
Police said the two men knew each other but it wasn’t clear what sparked the stabbing. Edwin has no prior arrests.
Scott was murdered in front of the building that houses the Bereshit Lifestyle Center, where Elizabeth Baron, 27, went into cardiac arrest just the day before after being injected with NAD+, a trendy anti-aging treatment.
Baron died later that day, July 19, at a Manhattan hospital. The unlicensed doctor who runs the clinic, Luis Rojas Cabrera, was arrested for practicing without a license and reckless endangerment. More serious charges are possible once Baron’s cause of death is determined by the city Medical Examiner.
