The biggest moves of the Brooklyn Nets’ 2026 NBA offseason are probably behind us.
On paper, Brooklyn is deeper and more experienced than it was in June, even if expectations around the league remain modest. Whether those additions translate into significantly more wins is another question.
With that said, it feels obvious the roster improved. Jordi Fernandez has coached two All-Stars prior to the Nets trading for Julius Randle: Ben Simmons and D’Angelo Russell. Both were well-removed from those days. Randle is back in New York and the Nets are happy to have him. Fernandez too.
“He’s going to be a leader, that’s for sure. We’re bringing a three-time All-Star, a guy who’s been in the playoffs multiple times,” Fernandez said of Randle while on ESPN’s broadcast of the Las Vegas Summer League.
The roster certainly looks different than it did a few months ago, but opinions vary on how much those changes move the needle.
