On July 30, 2026, at approximately 8:17 p.m., New York State Police at Richfield Springs arrested Douglas Nelson, 61, of Richfield Springs, for two counts of Forcible Touching and Unlawfully Dealing with a Child in the 1st degree, both misdemeanors.
An investigation revealed that while at a residence in Schuyler Lake, Nelson allegedly made sexual remarks and touched the intimate parts of a 17-year-old victim. Nelson is also accused of trying to provide alcohol to the victim.
Troopers arrested Nelson at his residence without incident. He was processed at SP Richfield Springs, then transported to the Otsego County Jail for Centralized Arraignment.
