Merrily We Roll Along‘s Corey Mach, who originated the role of Shakespeare in the North American tour of & Juliet, steps into the same part on Broadway beginning August 4 at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.
Mach succeeds Drew Gehling, who played his final performance August 2. Mach’s other Broadway credits include Kinky Boots, Hands on a Hardbody, and Godspell. On tour, he has been seen in Wicked, Flashdance the Musical, and Rent, while his screen credits include Uncoupled, FBI, The Blacklist, and Elsbeth.
As previously reported, Ben Jackson Walker, who made his Broadway debut creating the role of Romeo in & Juliet, will
return to the same part in the long-running jukebox musical beginning August 13. Walker will follow Liam Pearce, who is set to play
his final performance August 9.

The company also features Gianna Harris as
Juliet, Alison Luff as Anne, Michael Iván Carrier as May, Chrissy Metz
as Angélique, and Nathan Levy as François. NSYNC star Joey Fatone and
Tony winner Paulo Szot are sharing the role of Lance throughout the
summer.
The ensemble includes Gabe Amato, Daniel Assetta, Reese
Britts, Nicholas Cooper, Halima Dodo, Jhailyn Paige Farcon, Makai
Hernandez, Joomin Hwang, Elsa Keefe, Alaina Ví Maderal, Daniel J.
Maldonado, Mackenzie Meadows, Esosa Oviasu, Cassie Silva, TJ Tapp, Zalah
Vallien, Darien Van Rensalier, and Romy Vuksan.
Currently in its fourth summer on Broadway, & Juliet opened in November 2022 and celebrated its 1,500th performance at the Stephen Sondheim June 23.
Nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, & Juliet flips
the script on the William Shakespeare classic, imagining what would
happen next if Juliet hadn’t ended it all over Romeo. Featuring a book
by David West Read, the score includes famous pop songs written by Max
Martin, including “Since U Been Gone,” “Roar,” “I Want It That Way,” and
“Confident.”

The production also has direction by Luke Sheppard,
choreography by Jennifer Weber, musical supervision, orchestrations, and
arrangements by Bill Sherman, scenic design by Soutra Gilmour, costume
design by Paloma Young, lighting design by Howard Hudson, sound design
by Gareth Owen, video projection design by Andrzej Goulding, hair, wig,
and makeup design by J. Jared Janas, and musical direction and
additional orchestrations by Dominic Fallacaro.
U.S. casting is by Stephen Kopel and Carrie Gardner.
The international hit, which opened at the Sondheim
November 17, 2022 following a run in the West End, was the first new
musical of the 2022–2023 Broadway season to announce its recoupment.
