Two people died Tuesday after a structure fire in St. Lawrence County. New York State Police responded to a home on Overlook Avenue in the town of Clifton around 5:50 a.m. for reports of a fully-involved fire with possible entrapment.The Star Lake and Cranberry Lake Fire Departments arrived on scene and worked to extinguish the fire. The New York State Fire Investigator, along with firefighters, discovered two deceased individuals inside the home.A third occupant, identified as Shelly Carlisle, of Oswegatchie, was able to escape the residence but sustained severe burns. She was initially transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital and later transferred to Upstate University Hospital, where she remains in critical condition. This incident is under investigation by the New York State Police and the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control.
