A 37-year-old man was arrested for fatally shooting a teenage boy in the Bronx more than a year ago, cops said Wednesday.
Charlie Torres was charged Tuesday with murder, manslaughter and gun possession for the deadly shooting that killed 17-year-old Andrew Mora on Jan. 3, 2025, according to law enforcement.
Mora was struck once in the chest after a gunman fired at least six rounds on Macombs Road near Cromwell Ave. in Highbridge about 5:48 p.m., said police.
“We were working inside. (Then we heard) ‘Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!’” a worker at a Flat Fix shop across the street from the shooting said the day after the killing. “I heard maybe five or six shots.”
Medics rushed Mora to St. Barnabas Hospital, but he could not be saved.
Another 17-year-old boy was struck in the right abdomen and survived. That teen was later charged with possession of a loaded firearm after police found a gun on him, officials said.

Torres has three prior arrests since 2008, all for misdemeanor drug charges, cops said. He was ordered held without bail after a brief arraignment proceeding on Tuesday night.
An NYPD spokesman could not say why Torres fired on the teens.
After hearing the gunfire, a nearby resident said he saw two men fleeing the scene as the teenage victims lay splayed out on the pavement.
“There were two guys shooting at people down the block and they ran west,” said the witness, who refused to give his name. “One of the kids was lying in the street by the black car. They picked him up and put him on the stretcher. The other kid was lying on the sidewalk across the street. He was dead.”
Police are not currently seeking a second suspect, an NYPD spokesman confirmed.
Mora lived in the Inwood section of Manhattan, police said.
