Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. hosted the Colombian Independence Day celebration.
On July 22, 2026, Borough President Donovan Richards Jr., along with the Colombian Consulate of New York, hosted a lively and colorful Colombian Independence Day celebration at Borough Hall. Among those honored for their valued service to the community were Andres Vargas, president of the North Queens Homeowners
Civic Association (NQHCA). Pictured with the Borough President and Mr. Vargas are members of the NQHCA. The other honorees were Alfonso Lopes, Margarita Gaitan, Daniel Castellanos, and Kevin Jusino.
