NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — Some subway lines are returning to service after they were partly suspended and rerouted on Thursday morning due to a person being struck by a train in Manhattan, according to the MTA’s website.
Nos. 4, 5, and 6 trains are continuing to run with delays in both directions after they were temporarily suspended between 49 St-Grand Concourse and 86 St in both directions, the MTA’s website said.
Downtown No. 6 trains also temporarily ran express from 125 St to Grand Central-42 St.
Other service changes included some uptown Nos. 4 and 6 trains ending at Grand Central-42 St or 86 St, while downtown No. 4 trains ended at 149 St-Grand Concourse.
Downtown No. 6 express trains ran local from Pelham Bay Park to 3 Av-138 St with the last stop being 3 Av-138 St and Hunts Point Av.
Police say an unauthorized person was seen walking on the roadbed at the 103rd Street station just after 6:45 a.m. The train operator tried to pull the emergency brake, but the person was still hit, according to authorities.
The person has since been taken to the hospital.
