MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – A Manhattan man was arrested Thursday in connection with a shoplifting and theft incident at a Walmart.
On Wednesday, Aug. 5, the Riley County Police Department filed a report of theft of property or services around 8:26 p.m. in the 100 block of Bluemont Avenue.
Walmart was listed as the victim when it was reported that two unknown suspects stole two lawn mowers, one grass trimmer, and a bottle of cranberry juice.
The total estimated loss in the case was $1,009.
On Thursday, RCPD says officers arrested Mark Christopher Chapman, 54, of Manhattan, around 7:40 p.m. in the 2100 block of Fort Riley Boulevard in connection with the incident.
Chapman was arrested in connection with:
theft of property or services; value less than $1500shoplifting and theft of property or services; less than $1500 with two or more convictions within five yearsshoplifting.
Chapman was issued no bond and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.
