A Queens man was arrested for burglary and resisting arrest in Williston Park.
On August 6 at 10:40 p.m., an unknown male allegedly entered Dunkin Donuts located at 276 Hillside Avenue. An employee, making a delivery, advised the subject that the store was closed and that he needed to leave. The subject allegedly refused to leave, walked behind the counter and attempted to make himself a coffee. The male employee, 25, advised the subject to leave a second time. The subject allegedly became violent and struck the victim in his chest three times, causing him substantial pain before he fled eastbound on Willis Avenue. The victim refused medical treatment at the scene.
A short time later, detectives located the subject on Mineola Boulevard and, during the investigation, he allegedly attempted to flee on foot. A violent struggle ensued and the subject allegedly refused to comply with the detective’s verbal commands. The subject allegedly swung his arms and continued to pull away. Senai Haywood, 25, was subdued and arrested. The subject was transported to a local hospital for assessment.
Police charged Haywood with Burglary in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree and Resisting Arrest. He was arraigned on August 7 at First District Court in Hempstead.
