A 66-year-old man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on 9th Avenue near W55th Street early Saturday morning, in what police say appears to have been a hit-and-run.

The collision happened at 5:36am, according to police. Preliminary information from the NYPD indicates that an unidentified vehicle was traveling southbound on 9th Avenue when it struck the man as he was crossing the avenue mid-block.
