LANCASTER, N.Y. — Culver’s has rolled out plans for its first location in Western New York. Actually, for the entire state.
The Wisconsin-based fast food company — best known for its Original ButterBurger, cheese curds, and frozen custard — has its sights set on the former Rite Aid location at the 4937 Transit Road, at the corner of William Street and Losson Road.
An engineering firm representing Culver’s presented details during Monday’s Town Board meeting. The 1.8-acre site would be home to a 4,300-square-foot Culver’s restaurant.
The proposed Lancaster Culver’s would have room for 26 tables, 86 people, and 56 parking spots, the engineering firm said. After placing orders and paying in the drive-through, there would be 10 waiting spots as orders are processed, with runners taking food and drinks from the building to vehicles.
No formal plans have been filed yet. The town board told the firm to submit details to the planning board.
There are more than 1,000 Culver’s locations scattered across 26 states, with the closest current location being found east of Cleveland, in Eastlake, Ohio. The company was found in 1984 in Sauk City, Wis.
