A teenager was shot to death inside a Bronx home early Monday morning, and police are investigating whether his death may have been a case of deadly gunplay.

According to police sources, officers from the 42nd Precinct rushed to 1346 Prospect Ave. in Morrisania at around 5:11 a.m. on Aug. 10 after a report that a person had been shot.

Upon arrival, cops discovered a 17-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the head. EMS responded and pronounced the boy dead at the scene. His identity is pending proper family notification.

Sources familiar with the investigation report that the teen and a friend had been playing around with a gun when it suddenly went off, causing the young man’s demise.

Another teen is being questioned by police, but no arrests have been made at the time of publication. The investigation remains ongoing.
