GILBOA, N.Y. (WCAX) – The man wanted in connection with a murder and arson in New York has been taken into custody.
New York State Police say Thomas David Ryan, 32, was taken into custody Saturday, ending the manhunt in that area and across the state. Police on Friday had warned that Ryan was known to frequent the Plattsburgh area.
Ryan has been wanted since Thursday, when police found a man dead inside a home in Greenville. The victim has been identified as Ryan’s 70-year-old father, Robert Ryan. Police say Thomas Ryan did not live with his father, nor in the Greenville area.
They say the fire was deliberately set, and death is a homicide.
Police took Ryan into custody early Sunday morning in the town of Gilboa thanks to tips from the public.
