President Donald Trump will visit New York state on Friday to tour law enforcement facilities in Nassau County with Nassau County Executive and Republican candidate for governor Bruce Blakeman, a White House spokesperson confirmed Monday.
“President Trump will visit the Nassau County Police Academy to highlight the FBI’s 2025 Crime Report that shows the largest year-to-year decrease ever in violent crime,” Lauren Bis, a White House spokesperson, wrote in a statement.
“I am grateful that President Trump is coming to Nassau County to tour our outstanding, state-of-the-art law enforcement facilities and pay tribute to the men and women of our Police Department, Sheriff’s Department, Probation Department, and our firefighters for their outstanding efforts to protect our county, state, and country,” Blakeman said in a statement.
In May, the president came to the city’s suburbs to rally in support of Rep. Mike Lawler in Rockland County, who is in a competitive reelection race.
Sources told NY1 that the state Republican Party is preparing for an event similar to the one held with Lawler.
Sources familiar said the White House is focused on Republicans winning downballot races on Long Island, specifically in Congressional District 4, where Republican Jeanine Driscoll is challenging Democratic incumbent Laura Gillen.
