PHEONIX, N.Y. — The New York State Police announced the arrest of a Phoenix, N.Y. man on child exploitation charges.
The state police said Bryan M. Wood, 20, was charged with disseminating indecent material to a minor in the first degree on Aug. 11.
The investigation into the matter began on July 1, when the troopers received a report of a possible incident involving a juvenile from Ohio. The investigation determined that a 12-year-old girl was communicating through a social media platform with someone she thought was a juvenile boy, who was actually Wood.
According to the police, during their conversations, Wood requested “inappropriate images” from the victim while pretending to be the boy. Investigators recovered digital evidence that Wood allegedly sent to the minor. Wood also repeatedly communicated inappropriately with the victim.
Wood was arrested at his address. He was taken to the Oswego County Jail for arraignment.
