After a couple of off days the WPBL resumes this evening!
The Firebells excelled on both sides of the ball. Their lineup scored ten runs, primarily in a seven run outburst in the fourth inning off of Queens pitcher Michelle Roche, with nine different players recording at least one hit or walk. On the mound, Jill Albayati and Nicki Eckert combined to pitch the full seven innings for the Firebells allowing only three runs (one earned) while striking out five.
The Queens will look to regroup after their first loss and avoid letting the Firebells tie them for the league’s best record.
