As they narrowly missed each other on holiday, Brooklyn’s next move has upset his parents

Almost eight months on from the damning statement about his family, Brooklyn Beckham’s relationship with them is showing no signs of repair. In fact, it was revealed last week that the eldest Beckham child and his wife Nicola Peltz had missed bumping into parents David and Victoria by minutes.
With both families holidaying in the south of France, Brooklyn, 27, and his wife, 31, were spotted with his godfather Sir Elton John, picking up an ice cream while his parents ate in a nearby restaurant.
But while the Beckhams already find it painful to have no contact with their estranged son, an insider tells heat things are set to go from bad to worse. The couple, who married in April 2022, are planning to meet up with Brooklyn’s grandparents back in the UK – leaving Victoria, 52, devastated.
‘David and Vic were extremely hurt when they heard Brooklyn and Nicola were planning to meet family members while they’re in the UK. Of course, there was no talk of them meeting with David and Victoria, which just twisted the knife even more – they’re furious.
‘He’s also going there to promote his hot sauce brand [Cloud 23], so there’s the possibility of more drama if the feud comes up in interviews.’
And far from encouraging Brooklyn to patch things up with his family, we’re told Nicola is seeing the visit as an opportunity to clear their name. ‘She wants them to be able to hold their heads high in Brooklyn’s homeland,’ the insider says. ‘Nicola wants to show people they’re not trying to hide from anyone – and that it’s the Beckhams who have been causing the issues, not them.’
While Brooklyn’s family have offered several olive branches to the Peltz-Beckhams, they’ve fallen on deaf ears. In June, Harper, 15, was pictured delivering a letter to her brother’s LA mansion, but the couple weren’t at home. A rep for the Peltz-Beckhams slammed the stunt as ‘choreographed for the cameras’. Other attempts by Brooklyn’s brothers Romeo, 23, and Cruz, 21 – as well as his parents – have been ignored.
Now, our insider says, ‘Brooklyn wants to meet with the family he’s still talking to, including David’s mum Sandra and Vic’s dad Tony, who he feels particularly close to. They’ve been in touch throughout all the drama, but David and Vic have said Brooklyn will be crossing a line if he visits any of his grandparents while they’re still cut off.’
The source continues, ‘The wider family are all worried about Brooklyn’s arrival. They’ll be happy to see him, of course, but there’ll still be that elephant in the room – they feel he should see his parents if he visits them.’
There’s also another awkward stumbling block. ‘A few family members are also slightly scared of Nicola, perhaps because she’s from a hugely wealthy background. Most of David’s family are from the East End. They just hope it’s Brooklyn who’s making all these decisions about his family – they worry he might come to regret it.’
We’re told Brooklyn is hoping his trip to the UK could give his hot sauce business a boost with some high-profile interviews, although whoever he speaks to will clearly have other topics on their agenda.
‘Brooklyn is in talks for some TV interviews. He wants to talk about Cloud 23, but he’s not naive – he knows he will have to talk about his family. He’s had offers from every show in the UK and they’re all desperate to secure him,’ says our source.
‘Brooklyn will try to keep the focus on his career, but he’s happy to say a few words to set the record straight. Of course, it could make the feud worse as it’ll be seen as him taking fresh jabs at his family.’
