Heathers The Musical has revealed more new casting headed for the Off-Broadway revival, currently playing New World Stages and headed for a November 8 final bow.
Beginning September 9, the production will welcome Anneliese van der Pol (That’s So Raven, Beauty and the Beast) as Ms. Fleming, Morgan Dudley (Hadestown) as Heather Duke, Nicholas A. Wilkinson as Kurt Kelly, Jimmy Ray Bennett as Ram’s Dad, and Brian Martin as Kurt’s Dad. Current cast members Jeannette Bayardelle, Jackera Davis, Cade Ostermeyer, and Adam Bashiabn will all give their final performances September 6.
Van der Pol’s engagement will continue through October 26, with Kate Rockwell (Mean Girls) set to return as Ms. Fleming for the revival’s final week.
The revival of the Laurence O’Keefe-Kevin Murphy musical opened July 10, 2025, coming back to the venue that hosted its 2014 original New York production via a new staging that originated at London’s The Other Palace. The current cast features Isabella Esler as Veronica, Zan Berube as Heather Chandler, John Cardoza (The Notebook) as J.D., Ava DeMary as Heather McNamara, Bayardelle as Ms. Fleming, Chris Marsh Clark (A Beautiful Noise) as Ram Sweeney, Davis (Beetlejuice) as Heather Duke, Aniya Thompson as Martha Dunstock, Ostermeyer as Kurt Kelly, Bashian as Ram’s Dad, and Bennett as Kurt’s Dad. Casting is by The Telsey Office‘s Rachel Hoffman and Jimmy Larkin.
Adapted from the 1988 film, the musical follows Westerberg High student Veronica Sawyer, who’s on track to become one of the most popular girls in school after befriending the beautiful but cruel Heathers, only to meet a mysterious teen rebel who changes everything. Andy Fickman directs the revival, which will launch a North American tour in Baltimore next year.
Heathers the Musical premiered with a sold-out run in Los Angeles in 2013, and transferred to New World Stages in 2014, also directed by Fickman in a different staging. The authors revised the show for a 2018 West End run, before playing two national tours and a West End encore engagement—several new songs and script changes can be heard in New York for the first time in this revival.

Fickman reunited his London creative team for the Off-Broadway mounting, including choreographer Gary Lloyd (the New York iteration also includes additional choreography by Stephanie Klemons), set and costume designer David Shields (this staging also features co-costume design by Siena Zoë Allen), lighting designer Ben Cracknell, and sound designer Dan Samson. Will Joy serves as music supervisor, with Mona Seyed-Bolorforosh as music director. Jason Weixelman is production stage manager, with Elizabeth Allen stage managing and Eszter Zador serving as assistant stage manager.
