Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Whitney Leavitt will follow up her smash-hit run in Chicago on Broadway with a stage return in Just in Time at the Circle in the Square Theatre. The reality favorite will play Sandra Dee in the Bobby Darin biomusical beginning December 1. Leavitt’s limited engagement will continue through January 10, 2027.
Leavitt made her Broadway debut earlier this year playing merry murderess Roxie Hart in Kander and Ebb’s Chicago. The casting kicked off a ticket-buying bonanza at the box office, sending the long-running revival’s grosses soaring. Leavitt is also a former contestant from Dancing With the Stars, and reunited with her dance partner Mark Ballas in a second run in Chicago, with Ballas taking on slick lawyer Billy Flynn.
Just in Time opened on Broadway April 26, 2025. Tony winner Alex Timbers is at the helm of the immersive staging. The show tracks Darin’s life story and currently sees Jeremy Jordan (The Great Gatsby) as Darin performing the crooner’s greatest hits, including “Beyond the Sea,” “Splish Splash,” and “Mack the Knife.” Consistently one of Broadway’s best-selling titles, the show announced it had recouped its initial investment earlier this year.
The current cast of Just in Time also includes Olivia Holt (Kickin’ It), Carrie St. Louis (Wicked), Tony winner Debbie Gravitte (Jerome Robbins’ Broadway), Joe Barbara (A Bronx Tale The Musical), Drama Desk nominee Emily Bergl (Good Night, Oscar), Lance Roberts (The Music Man), Caesar Samayoa (Come From Away), Tristen Buettel, Christine Cornish, Jaime Foord, Julia Grondin (Funny Girl), Jessica Mallare White, Tari Kelly (Mr. Saturday Night), Matt Magnusson (A Wonderful World), and Jeffrey Schecter (A Chorus Line).
The musical, developed by Timbers and based on an original concept by Ted Chapin, features a book by Tony winner Warren Leight and Isaac Oliver (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel). Shannon Lewis choreographs with music supervision and arrangements by Andrew Resnick. The show originally opened in 2025 with Tony winner Jonathan Groff as Bobby Darin. The cast album, featuring Groff, was nominated for a 2026 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album.
