NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) — Theater kids, “justice” is here in the form of free tickets.
The city is opening a lottery for 2,100 New York City students to get free tickets to Broadway shows. The lottery opens Thursday for seven popular shows, including “In the Heights” and “Buena Vista Social Club,” Mamdani said.

“This is justice for theater kids who have watched City Hall roll out lotteries for major sporting events all summer long,” Mamdani said.
Students entering grades 9-12 this fall can enter. To enter the lottery, click here. Lottery winners will get two free tickets to one of the seven included shows. The lottery will remain open through Monday for local high school students.
All students who enter will get two months of free membership to the Theatre Development Fund, which includes discounted tickets to Broadway shows and free admission to Carnegie Hall and other venues.

Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York)
School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play
