Manhattan West residents and commuters are about to get a lot more places to eat. The Market Hall at Manhattan West is slated to open this fall and will feature 12 concepts, an independent full-service restaurant, a full-service indoor bar, and a rooftop terrace bar.
It’s situated within the eight-acre Manhattan West development, which is home to office, residential, hospitality, and retail space just west of Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station. It’s also a quick walk from Madison Square Garden, the High Line elevated park, and Hudson Yards real estate development and shopping mall. It hopes to become a dining destination for the neighborhood, which includes nearly 30,000 office workers.
Market Hall has announced seven dining concepts across a mix of neighborhood favorites and emerging brands. They include:
BKLYN Larder, a specialty food shop offering sandwiches, pastries, cheeses, and gifts
Springbone, which is known for bone broths and nutrient-dense bowls
Shifka, an all-day Middle Eastern-inspired pita counter that currently resides on Bowery in NoHo
Alfalfa, a California-inspired restaurant with locations in Los Angeles and New Jersey that serves salads, wraps, farmstand plates, smoothies, and specialty coffees
Super Burrito, a popular burrito joint that currently has stores in the neighborhoods of Greenwich Village, Murray Hill, Williamsburg, and Rockaway Beach and will open its first west side location at Market Hall
Sushi Counter, which makes fresh Australian-style hand rolls and has several grab-and-go spots in Manhattan and Brooklyn
Matter, “the world’s first precision nutrition restaurant” that has a spot in NoHo and serves meals that are customized to individual health goals.
Five more concepts are still to come, as well as the full-service restaurant and bars, which have yet to be announced.

The new hall will be close to Penn Station and hopes to serve thousands of neighborhood office workers and commuters.
The project is led by BGRE (formerly Brookfield Properties), which also created Hudson Eats, a Lower Manhattan food hall that opened in 2014 and features 14 fast-casual restaurants.
“We take a thoughtful approach to curation at The Market Hall, looking at what’s missing from the mix [in the neighborhood] and what will resonate with office workers, locals, and visitors alike,” a BGRE rep said via email. “Building on the success of the Hudson Eats model at Brookfield Place, we prioritize quality, consistency, and authenticity, partnering with great concepts and the great people behind them. We look for operators with staying power who can thrive in a high-volume environment while complementing the overall mix.”
When Market Hall at Manhattan West makes its debut later this year, it promises a series of grand-opening events, tastings, and partner promotions.
