Analog activities are always a great way to unwind, slow down, and learn, and Jersey City is welcoming another spot for the DIY scene. New York Sewing Center, an NYC-based sewing school, is now opening its second location in downtown Jersey City at 190 Columbus Drive. Visitors to the center can join its usual sewing classes and fashion workshops, led by the same team of teachers from other locations. Read on to learn more about New York Sewing Center’s expansion to Jersey City.

About New York Sewing Center + The Move

The New York Sewing Center provides sewing classes for participants of all skill levels. It was founded by Kristine Frailing, who started the business in 2014 with a background + education in Fashion Design and Merchandising. Kristine’s experience with sewing goes back to her great-aunt teaching her, and she opened NYSC to pass that passion on to new students.

New York Sewing Center has plenty of options for all ages, including after-school classes for pre-teens, fashion school prep for high schoolers, embroidery workshops, knitting, and more. It offers classes in both one-day and semester-long formats.

The new location at 190 Columbus Drive will be the second in New Jersey, after the location in Montclair opened in December 2025. It will open in October 2026 and is already accepting pre-booked classes. To learn more about New York Sewing Center and its classes, visit its website here.
