A woman allegedly threatened a subway rider with a knife on a Queens-bound E train approaching the Forest Hills-71st Avenue station.

Police from the 112th Precinct in Forest Hills and Transit District 20 are looking for a woman who allegedly threatened a fellow E train rider with a knife after the two women were engaged in a verbal dispute during the evening rush on Friday, July 24.
Police say the 56-year-old victim was on a Queens-bound E train approaching the Forest Hills-71st Avenue subway station at 5:30 p.m. when a stranger began arguing with her. The suspect pulled out a knife and threatened the woman before exiting the train, police said. She was last seen boarding an MTA Q76 bus on Queens Boulevard at Continental Avenue.

The NYPD released a surveillance image of the suspect as she sat in the E train and described her as having a medium complexion with black hair. She wore an olive green blouse and sunglasses and had a large blue handbag slung over her shoulder.
A reward of up to $3,500 is being offered for information that leads to her arrest and indictment

Through Aug. 9, the 112th Precinct has reported 14 transit crimes so far in 2026, five fewer than the 19 reported at the same point last year, a decline of 26.3%, according to the most recent CompStat report.
