STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — It’s time for Catholic elementary school students in New York City to get ready for the new academic year.
The Archdiocese of New York Superintendent of Schools recently released the 2026-2027 calendar for Catholic elementary school students on Staten Island.
Thursday, Sept. 10, is the first full day of classes for Catholic school students on Staten Island. For those students entering eighth grade, the Test for Admission to Catholic High Schools (TACHS) will be given Friday, Nov. 6.
This is a generic, systemwide calendar. Check your school’s calendar for all school-specific dates.

Sept. 10 — Classes begin for all Staten Island students

Oct. 12 — Schools closed for Columbus Day
November 2026
Nov. 6 — TACHS exam administeredNov. 11 — Schools closed in observance of Veterans DayNov. 26-27 — Schools closed for Thanksgiving
