Police are looking for two suspects after a woman was shot to death and a man was injured in Brooklyn early Sunday morning.

According to law enforcement sources, the double shooting unfolded at around 2:23 a.m. near Bergen Street and Howard Avenue. Cops from the 73rd Precinct rushed to the scene after a 911 call reported that some kind of an argument ended with a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a 33-year-old woman with a gunshot wound to the back and a 34-year-old man with a bullet wound to the abdomen. EMS rushed the female victim to One Brooklyn Health-One Brookdale Hospital Medical Center, where she could not be saved and was pronounced dead. Her identity is being withheld pending proper family notification. Meanwhile, the male was whisked to Kings County Hospital, where he is expected to survive.

The NYPD’s Crime Scene Unit continued to investigate as of Sunday morning, placing evidence markers near a parked vehicle.

Police say they are looking for two suspects who fled the scene. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
