Cops are on the hunt for a driver who struck a man in Queens and left him for dead early Sunday morning.
According to police sources, the incident occurred at around 3:11 a.m. at the intersection of Jamaica Avenue and 186 Street in Jamaica. A 37-year-old pedestrian was walking southbound on the 186 Street eastern crosswalk to Jamaica Avenue when the driver of a black vehicle mowed him down.
A 911 caller alerted cops from the 103rd Precinct and paramedics that a man had been seriously injured in a collision. EMS rushed the injured man to Jamaica Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the driver did not wait for authorities to arrive and fled eastbound on Jamaica Avenue and then southbound on Hollis Avenue.
No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD’s Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.
