A young tourist visiting the Big Apple was stabbed inside a Midtown McDonald’s early Monday morning, authorities said.

According to police sources, the incident took place inside of 490 8th Ave. at just after 2 a.m. Cops from the Midtown South Precinct arrived at the fast food restaurant after a report of an assault in progress. There, they found the 19-year-old Australian man with multiple stab wounds to the torso.

EMS rushed him to Bellevue Hospital, where he is expected to recover. Police say they believe the attack to be unprovoked.

Police took a person of interest into custody for questioning. Charges are pending as a result of the investigation, which remains ongoing.

According to NYPD data, felony assaults are down in the confines of the Midtown South Precinct by 5% but are up by 4% across the entire south of Manhattan.
