TOWN OF LERAY, New York (WWNY) – A mobile home in the Town of Leray was destroyed by fire Sunday night.
The fire destroyed the home of two adults and three children, Black River Fire Chief Matt Carpenter said in a press release.
The fire was at Black River Estates, at the intersection of routes 283 and 342. Firefighters were notified of the fire just after 9 PM.
At first, firefighters weren’t sure if anyone was home and caught in the fire.
State police were able to confirm everyone got out.
The trailer home was leveled by flames. A near-by mobile home sustained heat damage to its siding.
As for what caused the fire, that’s being investigated by the Jeffrson County Cause and Origin Team.
No one was injured fighting the fire. Black RIver’s fire department and ambulance responded to the fire.
Agencies that assisted on scene included Fort Drum Fire Department, Calcium Fire Department, Felts Mills Fire Department, the Jefferson County Office of Fire and Emergency Management, New York State Police and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
