On August 5, 2026, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Rhinebeck responded to Abilities First, located in the Town of Hyde Park, following a report of an incident involving a staff member and students.
It was reported that a teacher, identified as Ibrahim Mohammed,54, of Hyde Park, New York, pinched two nonverbal students.
As a result of the investigation, Mohammed was arrested on August 14, 2026, and charged with two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor.
Mohammed was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Town of Hyde Park Court on August 27, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
