Mid-County Electric, a family-owned Carmel business that has operated for more than half a century, has been added to the New York State Historic Business Preservation Registry.
Assemblyman Matt Slater (R, C-Yorktown), who nominated the business for the designation, recently presented company officials with a New York State Assembly proclamation recognizing its inclusion in the registry and more than 50 years in business.
Mid-County Electrical Sales Corp., commonly known as Mid-County Electric, was founded in 1973 and supplies electrical products and lighting to homeowners, contractors and businesses throughout the Hudson Valley.
“We are honestly just so grateful to our community for supporting us for 53 years,” said company President Jeff Restucci. “Longevity is a gift. We couldn’t have done it without having incredible employees and the loyalty of our customers.”
The Historic Business Preservation Registry was established by the state in 2020 to recognize businesses that have operated for at least 50 years and have contributed to the history and identity of their communities.
Slater said Mid-County Electric’s longevity and role in the local economy prompted him to nominate the company for the registry.
“Reaching more than 50 years in business is an outstanding accomplishment and a reflection of the dedication, integrity and hard work that has defined Mid-County Electric for generations,” Slater said.
The company remains family-owned and operated, and has long served customers in the town of Carmel and throughout the Hudson Valley region.
