All These Pretty Things has captivated audiences with more than 90 times worldwide, earning standing ovations, five-star reviews and multiple awards. It has toured extensively across the United States; Australia, including two successful season at the Adelaide Fringe; and the United Kingdom, including in London and two consecutive seasons at Edinburgh. Critics and audiences alike have praised the show’s emotional depth and relatability, with many describing it as both “breathtakingly honest” (Broadway World) and a powerful reminder of the restorative force of music and storytelling. Tracey Yarad (playwright and performer) is an Australia-born, New York-based pianist and singer-songwriter whose work blends jazz sensibility with fearless storytelling. Her career spans continents and reinventions—from touring Australia with her original music and landing a Top 40 single in the ’90s, to a seven-year residency in five-star hotels across Japan, to founding and running a music school for eighteen years in the Blue Mountains, before ultimately relocating to New York City. Possessing a deeply expressive voice and a gift for crafting emotionally resonant songs, Yarad has established herself in New York’s jazz and singer-songwriter scene, performing at venues including the 55 Bar, Soapbox Gallery, The Bitter End, and Birdland. Her collaborators include Grammy-nominated Chilean vocalist Claudia Acuña, Grammy-winning pianist Jon Cowherd, and avant-garde saxophonist Dave Binney. Her duo project with pianist Jim Ridl, Lost in Translation—a poignant blend of story and song drawn from her years in Japan—was singled out by award-winning New Yorker journalist Steve Futterman, who noted that “if demanding experience leads to hard-won wisdom, Yarad and Ridl will have much to impart.” All These Pretty Things marks a bold new chapter in her artistic voice. Alongside her performance career, Yarad has developed a parallel practice as a jazz photographer, becoming a sought-after visual artist within New York’s music community. Her work has been featured in DownBeat, Guitar Player, and Drum Scene magazines, capturing many of the city’s leading musicians with the same sensitivity and depth that defines her music.
David Deblinger (director and dramaturg) is an award-winning director, actor, writer, dramaturg, and co-founder of New York’s acclaimed Labyrinth Theater Company. Over a career spanning theatre, film and television, he has collaborated with some of America’s most celebrated artists, including Philip Seymour Hoffman, Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, John Patrick Shanley, Stephen Adly Guirgis, Marsha Mason, Mercedes Ruehl, and David Amram. As an actor, Deblinger originated roles in Shanley’s Where’s My Money? and Dirty Story, and Guirgis’s Our Lady of 121st Street, directed by Philip Seymour Hoffman. His screen credits include “The Sopranos,” “Sex and the City,” “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,” “Tulsa King,” “Godfather of Harlem,” and “Law & Order,” with film appearances alongside Robert Pattinson, Christopher Walken, and others. As a filmmaker, he wrote and directed “The Call Back,” starring Sam Rockwell, winner of the Audience Award for Best Short at the San Diego International Film Festival. His directing work spans theatre, storytelling, film and multidisciplinary performance, including Let Freedom Ring, Collecting Driftwood, Mad Mystic, and performances at New York’s Strand Bookstore and historic Great Hall. Deblinger directed and dramaturged Tracey Yarad’s award-winning and critically acclaimed All These Pretty Things, now headed to New York for a limited Off-Broadway engagement. He also teaches acting and storytelling at HB Studio, Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and Terry Knickerbocker Studio.
