GREENE, N.Y. — A road survey worker is in critical condition after being struck by a pickup truck in Greene, Chenango County, N.Y., the New York State Police said.
On Aug. 14, around 2:52 p.m., the state police responded to State Route 206 for a report of a pedestrian being struck.
The police said a preliminary investigation determined that a 2023 Ford Ranger was traveling westbound in State Route 206 through an active work zone. The driver, a 59-year-old man from McGraw, N.Y., failed to maintain his own lane and struck the worker, who was conducting testing outside of his vehicle on a closed portion of the roadway.

The state police noted that the driver of the pickup truck called 911 and is cooperating with police. He was issued traffic citations for the incident.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
