Luigi Mangione’s murder trial in New York state court was delayed by at least three months while a judge weighs whether to dismiss the case.
Mangione, 28, pleaded guilty Friday to separate stalking charges in federal court, where he admitted he fatally shot UnitedHealth Group Inc. executive Brian Thompson. His lawyers then asked a New York judge to dismiss the murder case on the grounds that Mangione can’t be prosecuted twice for the same acts, even if the charges are different.
