Victor, N.Y. — A man faces charges after he was caught with crack cocaine during a traffic stop in Ontario County and used his brother’s identity, according to New York State Police.
Troopers made a traffic stop for a violation on Interstate 490 near the ramps to the New York State Thruway in Victor at 2:09 a.m. Aug. 11. Police said they seized approximately 4 grams of crack cocaine, along with other suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia.
The driver initially identified himself as his brother, according to police, and was processed before investigators later determined his actual identity.
Police said they found Cayne Hartman, 27, Friday at a home in Geneva and took him back into custody for reprocessing.
Hartman was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, offering a false instrument, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal impersonation.
