Northfield, Ohio…August 18, 2026…Manhattan No Ice, with harness racing driver, trainer and co-owner Edward Miller in the sulky, threw cold water on his foes in Northfield Park’s GLADA feature on Monday night.
The nine-year-old gelded son of Andover Hall, the second choice at 7 to 5, wore down the 6 to 5 betting favorite, Big Bad Caviar, handled by Joseph Yoder, to score a handy 3 1/2 length win in 1:57.1.
MANHATTAN NO ICE REPLAY
B Medithree, beginning from the second tier for Joseph Kramp, was third, one length better than Game On Girls and Madison Angus.
Sadodaka, with Don Sherman handling the lines, was prominent throughout and dod pick up the nickel.
As the wings folded, Big Bad Caviar, last week’s winner, used the inside post to out skirmish Sadodaka into the opening turn with Manhattanup No Ice next and the second-tiered B Medithree next.
Positions remained unchanged through opening panels of :28 and :58.1 with Manhattanup No Ice tilting to the outside and in pursuit on the backside, reaching second and gnawing away at the third station in 1:27.4.
Turning for the money, Manhattan No Ice, stick his nose in front and drew off from there—his :29 finale sealing the issue.
The win was number three on the season in 21 starts for Manhattan No Ice, vaulting his seasonal bankroll to $28,042 and $327,019 lifetime.
Miller, co-owner with Ashley Miller, and a notably high percentage amateur driver, now has 76 career driving wins in 273 starts.
He also has 727 career training wins, having gone over $8 million earlier this year.
The winner returned $4.80 to his faithful followers.
The Great Lakes Amateur Driving Association is noted for its charitable contributions as all members of G.L.A.D.A. donate their earnings for distribution to worthy organizations such as aftercare for retired racehorses and second careers as therapeutic horses aiding those in need.
