The fastest-growing sport in America is taking over the Crossroads of the World. CityPickle is transforming Times Square into a pop-up pickleball paradise with CityPicklePalooza, a free five-day celebration happening right in the heart of the city.
With the Major League Pickleball Finals hitting Central Park’s Wollman Rink this same week, NYC is officially in its racquet sports era.

From August 26 through August 30, Times Square Plaza will come alive with a professional-grade pickleball court.
Whether you are a seasoned player or have never held a paddle in your life, the festival invites the public to enjoy complimentary court time from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily.
It is not just about playing, either. Spectators can expect a festival-like atmosphere right in the middle of the city.
You will have the chance to watch Major League Pickleball pros show off their skills, groove to live DJ entertainment, and score some serious swag with interactive brand activations and giveaways from partners like Prince, Rhone, and Zespri.
The event will also shine a spotlight on inclusive community programming, featuring the Challenged Athletes Foundation, the National Women’s Pickleball Foundation, and CityPickle’s own Parkinson’s programming.
How to secure your spot
Want to get in on the action? Free hour-long open play sessions will be available to the public every single day.
You will need to be quick, though. Sign-ups go live at noon the day before you want to play. You can reserve your court time through the CityPickle booking app or directly on their website.
If you miss the online sign-up window, don’t sweat it—there will be complimentary walk-up opportunities and additional programming available throughout the five-day activation.
