GREENE

On

August

14,

at

approximately

2:52

p.m.,

New

York

State

Police

from

SP

Norwich

responded

to

a

crash

involving

a

pickup

truck

and

a

pedestrian

on

State

Route

206

in

the

town

of

Greene.

A

preliminary

investigation

determined

that

a

2023

Ford

Ranger

was

traveling

westbound

on

State

Route

206

through

a

posted

active

work

zone.

The

operator,

Kenneth

J.

Alberts,

age

59,

of

McGraw,

failed

to

maintain

his

lane

of

travel

and

struck

a

survey

worker

who

was

conducting

testing

outside

of

his

vehicle

on

a

closed

portion

of

the

roadway.

The

survey

worker

is

identified

as

Jeffrey

Michael

Hall,

34,

of

Monticello.

Upon

impact,

Hall

was

knocked

into

an

open

door

of

his

vehicle.

Hall

sustained

serious

injuries

and

was

transported

by

helicopter

to

SUNY

Upstate

Medical

University.

He

is

listed

in

critical

condition.

The

New

York

State

Police

Collision

Reconstruction

Unit

responded

to

the

scene

to

assist

with

the

investigation.

Alberts

immediately

called

911

following

the

crash

and

has

been

cooperative

with

New

York

State

Police.

He

was

issued

traffic

citations.
