The ROC Cinema is hitting the open market. The 108-seat historic theater is located at 957 S. Clinton Avenue.
Kristina Dinino-Jeffords and Damon Jeffords bought the landmark five years ago and invested more than $140,000 into renovations.
They are selling the theatre as they plan to relocate to San Diego to be closer to family.
“We knew how much this theater meant to the neighborhood and to Rochester,” said Kristina Dinino-Jeffords. “Buying the theater was truly a passion project for us. We wanted to save it, give it new life, and create a place where people could continue making memories. We are incredibly proud of what ROC Cinema has become, and now we feel it is time to pass the torch to someone who can take it into its next chapter.”
It is the oldest theater in Rochester and one of the oldest in New York state.
“We don’t necessarily need the next owner to keep it exactly the way we have,” said Dinino-Jeffords. “We would love to see someone continue ROC Cinema as a movie theater, but we also recognize that the space has tremendous potential to become something completely new and unique. The most important thing to us is seeing this historic building continue to have a future.”
