Broadway’s upcoming musical Wanted has added Bradley Jaden to its cast.
Previously titled Gun & Powder, Wanted is set to begin previews on Broadway at the James Earl Jones Theatre October 15 ahead of a November 8 opening night. Obie winner and Tony nominee Stevie Walker-Webb is directing with choreography by Chelsey Arce.
On the heels of a star turn as Javert in the world tour of Les Misérables: The Arena Concert Spectacular, Jaden will star as Jesse, marking his Broadway debut. Prior to the world tour, Jaden starred in the West End in Sondheim’s Old Friends, Sideshow, Wicked, Shrek, and Camelot.
Jaden joins a previously announced cast that includes Solea Pfeiffer (Hadestown, Gatsby: An American Myth) as Mary Clarke, Liisi LaFontaine (Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Dreamgirls) as Martha Clarke, Luke James as Elijah, and R&B legend Ledisi as Tallulah Clarke. Aurelia Williams and Awa Sal Secka will play Sissy and Flo, respectively, reprising their performances from the musical’s earlier runs at Paper Mill Playhouse (for Williams) and Signature Theatre (for Secka). Additional casting, by Tara Rubin and Olivia Paige West of The TRC Company, is to be announced.

Telling a true story, Wanted focuses on Black twin sisters Mary and Martha Clarke who were able to pass for white and hide in plain sight while on the run. The musical features a book and lyrics by Angelica Chéri (descendant of the Sisters Clarke), music by Ross Baum, and choreography by Chelsey Arce (Sweeney Todd, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child). Additional casting for the production, by Tara Rubin and Olivia Paige West of The TRC Company, will be announced at a later date.
Under its original title, Gun & Powder, the musical played the Paper Mill Playhouse in spring 2024. The cast included LaFontaine as Martha Clarke, Ciara Renée as Mary Clarke, Jeannette Bayardelle as Tallulah Clarke, Aaron James McKenzie as Elijah, and Hunter Parrish as Jesse Whitewater. Tiffany Rea-Fisher was the choreographer.
A June 2025 workshop featured Pfeiffer as Mary Clarke, LaFontaine as Martha Clarke, Will Swenson as Jesse, James as Elijah, Jeannette Bayardelle as Tallulah, Jennie Harney-Fleming as Flo, and Aurelia Williams as Sissy.
