She’s passing gas.

Gov. Kathy Hochul greenlit a controversial, President Trump-backed natural-gas pipeline off the Big Apple’s coast Friday – a decision that came after a public push from the White House.

Trump hammered Hochul this week on his Truth Social platform for stalled pipeline projects he claimed would help “OUT OF CONTROL” energy prices.

By the week’s end, state Department of Environment Conservation regulators had OKed a water-quality permit to the Northeast Supply Enhancement pipeline — and Hochul said she’d approve it to forestall energy shortages she argued would be caused by Republicans fighting green projects.

“We are facing war against clean energy from Washington Republicans, including our New York delegation, which is why we have adopted an all-of-the-above approach that includes a continued commitment to renewables and nuclear power to ensure grid reliability and affordability,” she said in a statement.

“I am comfortable that in approving the permits, including a water quality certification, for the NESE application, the DEC did just that.”

The pipeline — which would extend from Pennsylvania, through New Jersey and end off Staten Island and the Rockaways — had been stalled for years after state regulators denied permits over water quality concerns.

But the state restarted the approval process for the natural gas project after an Oval Office office meeting over congestion pricing between Hochul and Trump, where the president said he wanted to revive the upstate Constitution pipeline, another plan by the Williams Companies.

DEC regulators ultimately ended up approving the Northeast Supply Enhancement pipeline, but nixed the Constitution project — prompting Williams reps to withdraw their application, Hochul said.

The Northeast pipeline’s approval drew fury from environmentalists with the Food & Water Watch, who noted it had been opposed by local communities and congressional Democrats, including Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

“This decision is a betrayal of New Yorkers,” said Laura Shindell, the group’s director, in a as statement.

“In granting the certification for this pipeline, Governor Hochul has not only sided with Trump, she’s fast-tracked his agenda. Hochul has shown New Yorkers she’d prefer to do Trump’s dirty work rather than protect our waterways from pollution.”

Hochul’s own Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado — who plans to challenge her in next year’s Democratic gubernatorial primary — joined environmental groups in casting it as a “dirty deal” with Trump that’ll threaten the water and fuel climate change.

“We can’t protect our planet or our people by bending to Trump’s agenda,” Delgado said in a statement.

Business groups, however, applauded the move.

“Governor Kathy Hochul’s approval of a new gas pipeline is essential to ensuring that New York City has a consistent supply of reliable and affordable energy as we transition to a carbon neutral economy,” said Kathy Wylde, president of the influential Partnership for New York City.

“The possibility of inadequate supply of natural gas over the course of the next few decades has raised serious concerns in the business community.”

Hochul also received criticism from Trump ally Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-New York), who announced her own candidacy for governor as the pipeline was approved.

Stefanik argued the about-face was a shameless attempt by Hochul to avoid a potential election-year albatross.

“Hochul the Hypocrite is back at it again: She just approved a pipeline in New York after years of blocking its construction and denying New Yorkers the cheap, clean, reliable energy they deserve,” Stefanik said in a statement.

“The Worst Governor in America is reading the tea leaves and knows she’s under water in the polls.”
