GREENPOINT —  WNYC TRANSMITTER PARK in Greenpoint could be the site of a new restaurant and a 40-slip marina, according to Greenpointers. Locals Josh Cohen and David Schmitt are working with the New York City Parks Department on a 25-year license agreement for the project, with the goal to increase waterfront access in Greenpoint.

Some residents worry the project would have a negative effect on the quiet and non-commercial 6-acre park, according to Gothamist. The fate of the historic WNYC transmitter building, for which the park is named, is also uncertain.
