EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn (PIX11) — Three teenage girls are recovering following an attack that happened inside the Dollar Tree on Van Siclen Avenue on Wednesday evening, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened around 8:30 p.m.

Officers responded to a report that a 13-year-old girl was stabbed multiple times in the torso, a 15-year-old girl was stabbed in the abdomen, and a 16-year-old girl was slashed in the left arm, police say.

The 13-year-old and 15-year-old teens were taken to a local hospital in stable condition, police say. The 16-year-old was treated at the scene.

Police arrested Viola Bouyer, 44, of Brooklyn, and charged her with 8 counts of assault and three counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

Investigations into what led to the attacks remain ongoing.
