Woman allegedly planned attack on New York State Capitol

Federal authorities have arrested a woman in connection with a plot to detonate a bomb at the New York State Capitol.

According to court documents, authorities have arrested Jessica Bowie, 35, of Albany. Bowie converted to Islam about five years ago and adopted the name “Aisha Saif,” according to court documents.

First Assistant U.S. Attorney John A. Sarcone III and Craig Tremaroli, FBI special agent in charge of the Albany Field Office, are expected to announce charges at 3 p.m. Thursday. That press conference will air live on Spectrum News 1.
