ALBANY, New York (WWNY) – The U.S. Department of Justice said a woman has been arrested for allegedly plotting to bomb the New York State Capitol building in Albany.
According to prosecutors, Jessica Bowie, 35, of Albany pledged allegiance to ISIS in online communications and began planning the attack in July.
Bowie allegedly discussed her plans with FBI informants and bought bomb materials from a hardware store on Aug. 5.
On Aug.19, Bowie was apprehended by law enforcement as she gained possession of what she believed to be an explosive device, with the intent of targeting the Capitol building and state Senators, prosecutors said.
