BOONVILLE, N.Y. — The New York State Woodsmen’s Field Days are bringing excitement to Boonville as the annual event returns for its 79th year.
The three-day event started today at the Boonville-Oneida County Fairgrounds and will continue through Sunday.
Organizers expect thousands of people to attend.
The weekend features contests such as chainsawing, speed chopping, ax throwing, log rolling, log chopping, tree felling and more.
The Woodsmen’s Field Days began in 1948 to promote and honor the forest industry across the State.
Tickets cost $13 per day for adults and $9 for children 12 and under.
Military members, first responders and seniors 60 and over can attend for $10.
