Evelyn Bar & Kitchen is Opening at Hanover Square

Evelyn Bar & Kitchen, a new neighborhood restaurant and cocktail bar, is opening on August 26 at 11 Hanover Square in Manhattan’s Financial District. It will offer a welcoming setting for business lunches, happy hours, dinner, and drinks.
Evelyn McConnell, who spent more than 25 years as general manager of The Full Shilling, is behind the new restaurant. It marks her first restaurant as an owner. The restaurant will focus on warm, community-driven hospitality and approachable modern American food with global influences.
The 74-seat restaurant will blend the Financial District’s industrial character with exposed brick, polished concrete floors, oak, and brass details. This includes exposed brick, large windows, polished concrete floors, an oak bar, upholstered seating, and brass lighting. Evelyn Bar & Kitchen will open daily from 11 a.m. to midnight.

Menu and Beverage Offerings
The menu at Evelyn Bar & Kitchen will feature small plates such as burrata, smoked bluefish pâté, chicken liver terrine, and fried Montauk squid. Main dishes will include chicken Milanese, steak frites, grilled brook trout, fried buttermilk chicken, salmon, and crab and leek angel hair pasta.
Other options include a grilled cheeseburger and a chickpea and eggplant bowl. Desserts will include sticky toffee pudding and almond cake.

The cocktail menu will include drinks made with herbs, infused spirits, and seasonal ingredients. Cocktails will include the extra-dirty Soup of the Day martini and The Closing Bell, made with mezcal, watermelon, lemon, and basil.
The beverage program will also include wine, beer, sangria, and nonalcoholic options. Happy hour will be offered Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
