Detectives in Brooklyn are searching for the suspect who shot and killed a man on Friday night in a possible road rage incident, it was reported.
Officers from the 75th Precinct responded to a ShotSpotter activation and a 911 call about the shooting at 899 Crescent St. in East New York just before 10 p.m. on Aug. 21. ShotSpotter is the NYPD’s citywide network of sensors designed to detect possible sounds of gunfire and evoke a rapid police response.
When the officers arrived at the scene, police reported, they came upon an unidentified adult male who suffered gunshot wounds to his chest and right torso shortly before 10 p.m.
Paramedics rushed the victim to Brookdale University Hospital in critical condition; the man ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.

While the motive for the shooting remains under investigation, ABC7 reported police are looking into the possibility that it may have been triggered by road rage. Officers also recovered multiple shell casings at the scene.
