A 27-year-old man was fatally shot in Brooklyn in what police believe may have been a road rage incident, according to the NYPD.

The shooting happened around 10:00 PM Friday in the area of Stanley Ave. and Crescent St., outside a deli in the East New York neighborhood, police said. The man was shot in the chest and torso and was pronounced dead at the hospital. His name has not been released.

Residents said they heard gunfire and are struggling with yet another deadly incident in the area.

“Four shots, I was about two blocks down,” said Regina Womble, who lives in the area.

“I am so sorry someone got killed, a young man. So sad, violence, so sad,” Womble said.

Someone else at the scene said road rage remains a serious concern.

“Unfortunately, road rage is real, it hasn’t gone away, and it’s national,” he said.

Some neighbors said they want an increased police presence.

“There needs to be more police to check things in here, yes,” Womble said.

Others pointed to another deadly shooting in the same neighborhood earlier this week.

“I am just so tired of hearing the same things over and over. My son just lost his friend, he was coming out of the store, shot in the head,” said Shavon Winston, who lives in the area.

Police said 17-year-old Ahmir Jordan was shot and killed while standing inside an East New York business Wednesday night.

“He was a great kid, played basketball, you know, hung out with his friends,” Winston said.

In that case, the NYPD is looking for two men who were wearing all black and masks. Surveillance video shows two people in black first walking and then running away following the shooting.
